Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Load and reconcile several SQL server and MS Access data sources. 
  • Provide reconciliation and database status updates. 
  • Recommend and implement process improvements using technical solutions. 
  • Provide database administration functions for the assigned databases. 
  • Database optimization (indexes, partitions, schemas, etc.) 
  • Implement database best practices (3rd normal form, naming conventions, field definitions, etc.) 
  • Security administration (create database roles and manage the users that have access to the specific roles with management approval) 
  • Ensure data/metadata integrity through testing processes 
  • Create and maintain process documentation. 
  • Cross train team members. 
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and data mining efforts when required. 
  • Assist with standardization of reporting and analysis processes which are dependent on the databases managed. 
  • Ability to understand functional (financial) requirements and translate them into technical specifications. 
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal). 
  • Sets high self-standards of performance. 
  • Willing to perform tasks outside of own area of responsibility when needed. 
  • Uses logic and work experience to solve complex problems in an effective way. 
  • Ability to work directly with business user and IT counter-parties. 
  • Be innovative and question the "status quo" by adding value to existing and new processes.

Experience/ Qualifications:

  • SQL Server and MS Access
  • Database Administration 
  • Data Mining (including ETL processes to automate and standardize population of data sources) 
  • MS Excel – Advanced 
  • MS Power Point – Intermediate 
  • Business Objects report development 
  • Hyperion (Essbase, Planning, HFM) a plus 
  • MicroStrategy experience a plus 
  • Tableau/Tableau Server experience a plus
