The Marketing Analytics team is a foundational team to enable our BMC to become a “Best In Class” data-driven Marketing org. by embracing these 4 Analytics Pillars: These four pillars define the critical functions and outcomes from our team. 
  • Centralized Marketing Database (Data Lake) 
  • Dynamic Reporting Automation Platform in Tableau 
  • Delivery of Performance reporting & insights 
  • Advanced Analytics for smarter targeting and measurement of Marketing effectiveness
I am expanding the team with Analytics rock stars with a self-starter spirit, eagerness to learn, contribute and drive innovation and passion for action-oriented problem solving.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Database & Reporting Analyst 

  • This role combines a strong blend of technical database development and data blending/manipulation skills with a critical lens around how to use these skills to deliver Reporting & Analysis outcomes for the business. 
  • Lead development of customer, campaign and analytical database environments through careful coordination of internal analysts, the IT organization and 3rd party vendors. Our evolving sophisticated database environment stores first party data from our CRM, MAP, and Web Behavior platforms, and third party data from enrichment and segmentation vendors.  
Provide support for following key database tasks:

  • Daily/monthly data feeds across source systems into marketing data repository. Including design, development, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Monthly database reporting ensuring database integrity including segmentation/fields/scores, customer file hygiene and suppressions are applied.
  • Marketing & Sales customer touch history management; development and maintenance of segmentation analytics files used for demand generation programs and measurement effectiveness.
  • Manage & maintain best practices around standardization of business rules, and reporting taxonomies
  • Develop and operationalize all database requirements needed for operational and campaign reporting and advanced analytics 
  • Relevant & strong experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau, SFDC Reporting to deliver standard reporting & self-service decision-support environment.  Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations Tableau.  
  • Manage & conduct ad-hoc analyses in support of business requests using our Netezza Marketing database 
  • Become a champion within marketing organization in helping implement a data-driven culture focused on continually improving the understanding of the customer.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing stakeholders to identify business objectives and provide technical & reporting outcomes based on requirements.

Skills and Experience

Required

  • SQL Programming Skills (Aginity Workbench on Netezza Database is a plus)
  • Experience with high-performance computing environments like IBM, Oracle, Snowflake 
  • ETL skills in Microsoft SSIS, Informatica
  • Possesses a strong business acumen, and experience in analytical / problem solving skills
  • Ability to deploy visualizations data through graphing, charting, etc. relevant to business problem (Tableau preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator – able to interface with team manager 
  • Aggressive self-starter, able to rally team support for process and accountability
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing to critical deadlines and deliverables
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail, well organized administratively

Preferred
  • Experience working with SalesForce.com and Eloqua and Adobe

Education/Training 
  • 5+ years experience in Database Development & Reporting & Analysis
  • Knowledge of B2B Database Marketing, preferably in High Tech/Software industry
  • Degree in a Quantitative Field (Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, etc.)
